Responsibilities:
Electrical and project engineering work involving support of Gypsum divisional operations through design, troubleshooting, project guidance, technological standardization and innovation, maintenance strategies, and energy efficiency activities. Involvement includes project scope development, project estimating, project review and management, electrical power systems design and implementation, and process control design and implementation.
Work may involve project management, managing contractors, schedules, scope development, budgets, checkout, commissioning, start-up and various other engineering/management activities as required. Project work also includes updating of electrical and instrument drawings, including single lines and P&ID's. The engineer will also assist in the evaluation of existing mill systems and processes to identify and implement solutions that will improve safety and quality, reduce cost and variability.
There are approximately 20 Gypsum facilities across the US. This position requires approximately 50% travel to the various facilities and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Areas of Electrical Proficiency:
Power Distribution up to 15kV, Instrumentation and Control Systems, System Grounding, Lighting, Motor Controls, PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives, Networks - Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet.
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering and four (4) or more years of electrical engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
Willingness to travel up to 50%
Experience with Power Distribution up to 15kV
Experience with Rockwell Control Logix PLCs and PowerFlex VFDs
Experience in applying NFPA and OSHA requirements pertaining to Electrical Safe Work Practices
Experience with electrical studies and ARC Flash analysis
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience with Power Distribution over 15kV
Experience with Project Management Execution
EIT Certification
PE Certification
Other requirements:
Physical ability to work on and around industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders to 100 feet
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots and hearing protection)
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Strong communication and time management skills
Proficient with AutoCad, Excel, Word, MSProject
Working knowledge in identifying and applying NEC requirements
Estimating Engineering Costs and Schedules
Estimating Construction / Project Costs
Scheduling and monitoring of Engineering Activities
Scheduling and monitoring of Construction Activities
Bid Package Preparation

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
