edu MAJOR FUNCTION:
The Student Support Specialist is housed within Admissions and Records and will report to the College Registrar.
This is an independent, complex, and highly specialized clerical position in the Admissions and Records Office.
Primary duties will include, but are not limited to:
Provides customer service, comprehensive support, and detailed information about admission and registration processes to prospective and current students, parents, the general public, and faculty and staff via in-person, phone, text, TDX tickets, and email.
Request documentation and resolve registration issues that become barriers to enrolment.
Processes and scans incoming admission documents as well as enrollment and registration documents such as Personal Information Change and Change of Program, Permission to Release Records, Request to Prevent Disclosure of Directory Information forms.
Posts received transcripts to students' account and manage student holds.
Troubleshoots problem enrollment and degree verification requests from the National Student Clearinghouse.
Serves on the Residency Reclassification Committee.
Supports the departmental goals and objectives and perform other related tasks upon request of a supervisor.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND
Experience:
Graduation from high school (standard high school or equivalency diploma) and three (3) years of secretarial and/or clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of TCC and Admissions and Records policies, procedures, and protocol.
Knowledge of the Family Rights and Privacy Act.
Knowledge of personal computers and printers.
Knowledge of appropriate letter and memorandum formats.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook, particularly Word and Excel.
Ability to handle a multi-line telephone.
Ability to manage, organize, and to coordinate work assignments.
Ability to coordinate and provide training for office support staff.
Ability to organize and enter data and perform basic data analysis.
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
