1 Year Old Teacher
Dick Howser Center for Childhood Services has an immediate opening for a Full Time Lead Teacher in our 1yr old room with experience in early childhood education. This is a 40 hours per week position, scheduled M - F from 9am - 6pm.
We are looking for a teacher to implement activities that inspire and encourage social, physical and intellectual development among children. The ideal candidate should also promote the importance of good hygiene, care and guidance toward others, as well as encourage parents to become active in their child's development and growth.
Teachers must be willing to give children the opportunity to explore each day, and help them understand and expand their individual interests and talents, assert their independence, build self-esteem, and most importantly, prepare them as they develop and go to elementary school.
All applicants must have a high school diploma, an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and/or FCCPC and experience working with children for a minimum of 3 years. Required trainings will be provided on health and first aid (CPR and first aid certification), fire safety, and child abuse detection and prevention. Criminal background check & drug screen will be conducted prior to being considered.
Desired applicants must be motivated, attentive and have a good influence on children. Therefore, it is imperative to possess positive qualities when interacting with young groups. Other functions may include having excellent verbal, listening skills, as well as flexibility in scheduling.
Teachers must provide care and support to children from various ages, prepare curriculum that is informative and exciting. Teachers must be willing to constantly grow and adapt their classroom skills for continual improvement. Applicants must interact with parents and provide information regarding their children's progress, attend and participate in staff meetings and center events.
Starting pay is between $9.50-$12.00 per hour.
