For the GS-07 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level. Examples of specialized experience are:
1) handles all routine and administrative matters; and refer others to supervisor or supervisors subordinates; 2) composes letters and memoranda on matters which require an understanding of the activities, practices, and procedures of the office, and of the interrelationships among its staff units and presents in final form for the signature or approval of the supervisor; 3) reviews draft or final form correspondence prepared in staff units for signature or approval of the supervisor for appropriateness of form, clarity of expression, completeness, and agreement with the preference of the supervisor; 4) recommends revisions to make the correspondence meet the established requirements; 5) makes arrangements for meetings, including time, space, and equipment; 6) assists supervisor's subordinates in the administrative procedural aspects of expediting the work of the office. For the GS-08 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level. Examples of specialized experience are:
1) determines the nature and purpose of calls, gathers background information, and refers to the appropriate responder or personally handles the matters; 2) anticipates the need for and conducts research for information, and obtains data from files and records; 3) provides advice to subordinate personnel on the supervisor's policies, directives and instructions; maintain the supervisor's daily calendar, making appointments and arranging conferences and meetings without specific prior approval, based on knowledge of the supervisor's schedule and priorities; 4) makes arrangements for meetings by reserving space, setting the specific time, and contacting all personnel expected to attend; 5) if necessary, arranges for transportation and lodging for participants; 6) drafts correspondence, such as routine official correspondence, memoranda regarding confidential union and/or personnel related issues, social and personal acknowledgments, congratulatory letters, and routine office reports and ensures proper spelling, punctuation, grammar, and formatting; 7) records and transcribe minutes of meetings, determining and controlling sensitive and confidential matters, and assigning/following up on actions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT:
If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
