Physician-Chief Medical Officer

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assures that each patient presenting for care at the clinic receives quality care within the limits and resources of the clinic, obtaining referral to another VA facility or VA community Care if resources are not available. Directs and supervises the clinical activities of the physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, dietitian, health technicians, and laboratory staff in the clinic. Participates in direct patient care and serves as a role model for peers. Directs the provision of employee health services in collaboration with the Employee Health provider. Ensures that staffing, space, equipment, and materials, systems and support services are utilized appropriately to meet the needs of the patients served in the outpatient clinic. Ensures that patients receive care in a safe and therapeutic environment. Ensures that the care of each patient in the outpatient clinic is the responsibility of a qualified and appropriately privileged staff clinician. Works cooperatively with the Gainesville and Lake City Medical Centers, and other outpatient clinics of NF/SGVHS. Coordinates care and transfer of care to their facilities when needed. Responsible for enforcement of applicable medical center and outpatient clinic policies, rules and regulations, and medical staff bylaws. Responsible for meeting the performance improvement requirements of both the Joint Commission and the Department of Veterans Affairs, encompassing the information in the outpatient clinic, and for directing, educating, ad involving all staff in these areas in the performance improvement process. Completes annual proficiency evaluations of the providers, PAs, NPs, Nurse Managers and others as required. Incorporates provider specific performance improvement data in these appraisals. Participates in the resource allocation process for the outpatient clinic. Responsible for the safety program and action plan in the outpatient clinic. Participates in the following NF/SGVHS committees:
Outpatient Clinics Leadership Council, Primary Care Council, Professional Council, and others as appropriate. Represents the clinic on these committees, promoting the integration of the outpatient clinics and hospital services. Administrates and enforces all leave policies for individuals supervised. Utilizes workload statistics and other data to ensure optimum availability of staff to meet patient needs. Anticipates clinic staffing vacancies and needs; interviews and selects candidates. Completes annual performance evaluations on the Clinic Coordinator (Administrative Officer), Nurse Manager, and Social Workers. Arranges for provider coverage to assume clinical responsibilities of the Chief Medical Officer during his/her absence. Reports to the Deputy Associate Chief for Primary Care. Approximately 30% clinic and administrative time. Demonstrates strong leadership skills, foster team work, enhance productivity, lead by example, have basic understanding of Time and Leave (T/L), EEO and workplace harassment, management of financial resources, and conflict management. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Licensure. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience:
Experience in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, with experience in Administrative and outpatient management. Reference:

This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. The work requires occasional periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
