IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT) (T32)

As a IT Specialist (CUSTSPT), GS-2210-07/09/11, you will serve as a technical expert on all supported automated systems utilized throughout the state; provide solutions to customer requests for assistance in resolving hardware and software problems; use systems to include personal computers, mini computers and mainframes; develop and maintain the customer service database for all service requests; receive, analyze, and assign control numbers to all incoming customer requests; determine if equipment is covered by warranty or maintenance contract and processes accordingly; use a process for quickly assessing and determining the actual problems and either solves or assigns unresolved request to appropriate specific functional area; follow up with the functional areas to ensure problems are resolved and requests are completed; ensure continual contact and update of status with the user; perform intensive collection and analysis of data from the customer service database to create trend reports, performance reports, and future requirements for all areas of Information Management; provide database maintenance on the customer support database; participate in the analysis of requests for new and modified applications; determine equipment demands and number and kind of requests received:
data communications requests, telecommunications requests, visual information requests, and information services requests. AREA OF CONSIDERATION:
This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709, and is open to Category 1 & 3 Only.Category 1:
All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency WITH dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3:
All current military members of the Florida National Guard. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS:
Permanent Change of Station (PCS) MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. GENERAL
Experience:
Must have experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
GS-07- Must have at least 12 monthsexperience, education, or training in translating detailed logical steps developed by others into language codes that computers accept where this required understanding of procedures and limitations appropriate to use of a programming language. Experience interviewing subject-matter personnel to get facts regarding work processes, and synthesizing the resulting data into charts showing information flow. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
GS-09 - Must have at least 24 months of experience, education, or training in analysis of the interrelationship of pertinent components of the system:
Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment:
Experience scheduling the sequence of programs to be processed by computers where alternatives had to be weighed with a view to production efficiency. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
GS-11 - Must have at least 36 months of experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization; Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls:
Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment:
Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. MULTIPLE LEVEL RECRUITMENT:
This position is being advertised using multiple level recruitment to allow for consideration of applicants with the basic skills necessary to develop to the full journeyman level of the position. If a less than fully qualified applicant is selected, incumbent may be trained and developed until proficiency is gained to full journeyman level. If less than fully qualified individual is selected for this position, the position has potential to Grade 11 .

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
