The employee in this position works under the direction of the Unit Manager of the Complaint Administration Unit.
This is a professional position performing regulation activities which includes complaint analysis and resolving consumer complaints.
This position processes incoming complaints against health care facilities, utilizes independent judgment in drafting replies and communicating information to consumers, facilities, business entities, government agencies, etc.
, and answers questions concerning facility complaint history and other health care related topics from consumers.
The person in this position is responsible for data entry related to federally-required reporting and interacts regularly with facility data system users.

This position is located in a call-center environment.
The position is full-time, with regularly scheduled hours of Monday Friday 8:

to 5:

m.
The employee will be required to follow a daily schedule to ensure phone coverage.
Schedules may be changed based upon business needs.
The employee must be able to meet deadlines while completing multiple assignments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to use, store and retrieve, and input information and review for accuracy.
  • Ability to investigate, analyze, and resolve complaints.
  • Ability to write reports.
  • Knowledge of correct grammar usage, and basic arithmetic.
  • Proficient computer typing and/or keyboarding skills.
  • Experience using custom databases, document management storage systems, and Microsoft programs, and can effectively learn pertinent computer programs used in the Agency.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing, including listening skills, understanding, and explaining complex, technical, or confidential information.
  • Must have professional telephonic skills in a moderately high call-volume setting.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Must have interpersonal skills for interacting in a team environment.

MINIMUM
Qualifications:

  • One year of experience working in a high call volume setting, providing a professional level of customer service, explaining complex medical, technical, or confidential information.
  • One year of professional work experience where the duties were related to professional regulation or documenting consumer complaints.
  • The applicant must be proficient with and have current working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are fully bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • An associate's degree from an accredited institution and two years of professional experience in professional regulation, consumer complaint program work, interviewing, customer or public relations, investigations is preferred.
