MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, finance or business administration; or

One (1) year of professional or nonprofessional accounting experience.

Possession of a valid Driver License.

JOB DUTIES:

Responsible for obtaining warrants daily from the Department of Financial Services, auditing invoices by matching to warrants for correct payment amount, verifying the name and address, and amount of the warrant and mailing warrants daily. This position has vendor warrant processing responsibilities as outlined in Section 215.422, Florida Statutes.

Responsible for scanning, indexing and printing invoices from Administrative Image Management System (AIMS).

Responsible for adding/updating vendor employee file, adding vendor statewide for Purchase-Card (P-Card) and one time payments and requesting updates to vendor file for Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) vendors.

Responsible for processing credit card refunds through Bank of America s Payment Collection Gateway software system.

Serves as backup to Accountant II for matching Paid Journal Transfers, which includes matching Chief Financial Officer s posted journal transfers to pending vouchers. Verifies the amount of the Journal Transfer and the correct state agency against invoicing. Marks vouchers paid before sending to voucher room to be filed.

Responsible for maintaining daily Excel spreadsheet, logging number of warrants and electronic fund transfers (EFTs) received and noting discrepancies.

Serves as signer for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) Employee Fund.

Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
