SPECIAL NOTES:

Preference will be given to those with a bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, or business administration.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

Additional preference will be given to applicants with:

  • One (1) or more years experience auditing financial statements/data.
  • One (1) or more years experience as a contract manager.
  • Certification as a Florida Certified Contract Manager.
  • Experience researching, coordinating, and drafting competitive and non-competitive procurement activities

The starting salary will be based on qualifications and experience.

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to recognize validity, authenticity and propriety of accounting records.
  • Ability to prepare reports.
  • Ability to conduct audits of financial records.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.
  • Ability to investigate, review, analyze and interpret accounting, security, and other related data.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accounting records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to use a personal computer.
  • Skill in composing and constructing letters and narrative reports.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with the monitoring of contracts, researching, coordinating, drafting competitive and non-competitive procurements activities, contract execution, contract audit guidelines and procedures to ensure contract compliance Division wide. Coordinates with the Office of Purchasing and Contractual Services and the Division of Legal Services to ensure division contracts stay in compliance with Department and State guidelines.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
