Preference will also be given to applicants that have conducted criminal investigation related analysis in support of Law Enforcement Investigations.
Preference will be given to applicants that have been or are Florida Department of Law Enforcement Analysts.
Preference will be given to applicants whom have experience with conducting criminal investigation related analysis to support criminal investigations by sworn Special Agents.

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the Security Manager, the incumbent assigned to this position is responsible for conducting detailed research, analysis, and evaluation of intelligence and investigative information relating to the operation of the Florida Lottery.
The incumbent's primary responsibilities are to conduct employee, vendor and retailer background investigations and provide analytical assistance to criminal and administrative investigations involving the operation of the Florida Lottery.
The incumbent assigned to this position is responsible for operating and monitoring the Integrated Security System (ISS).
The incumbent's primary responsibility is patrolling and maintaining the security of the Lottery headquarters building.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Background Investigations:
Each employee is expected to be knowledgeable of the Lottery's Responsible Gaming program, including the No Underage Play and Play Within Your Means messaging, and will ensure retailers and players are aware of the program and provided information, as necessary.
Following established procedures Conducts in-depth background investigations of employees, vendors and retailers.
Conducts investigative research appropriately utilizing law enforcement, criminal justice, and confidential and public record resources, and all other available sources of information.
Compiles, analyzes, and evaluates the information and intelligence collected for the background investigations and thoroughly documents findings.
Monitors reported or alleged activities which may reflect negatively on the integrity of the Lottery and reports findings.
Attendance is an essential function of the position.
Reviews and updates background investigative files to track potential problems that may jeopardize the integrity of the Lottery.
Establishes new procedures for management of all background investigative files.
Data Administration:
Reviews, analyzes, and compiles data for documentation for special projects and reports for other staff and management.
Develops implements and maintains database management systems (Lost/Stolen Ticket, ticket stock tracking, photo database, Case Management system) for computer-assisted management of files.
Intelligence Assistance:
Manages numerous investigative assignments.
Prepares analysis of investigative files and reports findings to appropriate management as required.
Provides assistance to the Division of Security Investigative staff by requesting, receiving, compiling, and analyzing highly sensitive, confidential information regarding suspected criminals, criminal groups, and criminal activity.
OTHER DUTIES:
Conducts short term and on-going research projects as deemed necessary.
Prepares reports and presentations for management to include charts, graphs, handouts, and other visual aids and supporting materials.
Provides assistance to other entities within the Department upon request by researching resources as appropriate.

Operates and monitors sophisticated surveillance, alarm, and intrusion detections systems for the headquarters facility.
Operates and monitors sophisticated surveillance, alarm, and intrusion detections systems for all the Lottery's District Offices 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Retrieves surveillance video as needed for investigative and security purposes.
Initiates appropriate response to breaches of security at headquarters, district and regional offices.
Assigns/requests escorts as appropriate.
Provides security support for instant ticket drawings held at headquarters.
Provides security for the Lottery headquarters building and grounds by performing patrol of assigned area of staffing a fixed post assignment.
Conducts specified Watch Tours, being alert for security and safety violations.
Provides escorts for delivery and service personnel as assigned.
Takes reports of stolen tickets from retailers and makes accurate and timely ticket status change 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Assumes a fixed post at exterior doors when open as necessary to prevent unauthorized entry.
Controls entry to headquarters at the main interior entry location.
