The Work You Will Do:
The Division of State Lands, as Floridas lead agency for environmental management and stewardship, serves as staff to the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund (Governor and Cabinet).
As such, the divisions role goes far beyond just acquiring lands for protection.
It provides oversight for the management of activities on more than 12 million acres of public lands including lakes, rivers and islands.
These public lands help ensure all Floridas residents and visitors can truly appreciate the states unique landscapes.

The Bureau of Public Land Administration (BPLA) is the Board of Trustees real estate administration program within the Division of State Lands that generates revenue through a variety of instruments benefiting the Board of Trustees and other state agencies, for the management, administration, protection and conservation of state-owned lands.
BPLA has a diverse group of team members with a focus on land management and customer service.
The Bureau produces approximately 1,200 instruments a year and engages with those lessees who perform the day-to-day management of the states land portfolio.
BPLA effectively manages the dynamic land inventory of the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund while protecting water resources, public access and bridging communication with all stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
The position consults, analyzes, and exercises project management of work related to the issuance, modification, cancellation and/or renewal of leases, easements, conservation easements, use agreements, management agreements, deeds and consent of use, that require authorization from the Board of Trustees and/or through delegation of authority.
Collect, organize, evaluate, research, modify and analyze problems and requests that require authorization from the Board of Trustees and/or through delegation of authority for accuracy, completeness and consistency with statutes, rules, bureau and departmental procedures and policies.
Coordinates and communicates with applicants/agents, departmental staff and governmental and private entities, as required to identify and resolve problems.
Administers and develops legal contracts/documents and related backup materials consistent with statutes, rules, bureau and departmental procedures and policies, prior to submittal to the supervisor.
Administers and prepares, organizes and maintains accurate computerized records/project files, and develops reports to assure an efficient/accurate operation.
Analyzes reports and makes recommendations to the supervisor to solve problems associated with the respective project management area assigned.
Manage and collects data associated with project files assigned.
Assists supervisor in evaluating contract procedures and recommending changes as applicable.
Performs related work as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
the methods of data collection and analysis; and basic project management principles and practices.
Skilled in:
Microsoft Office Suite software; preparation and review of real estate contracts; organizing and prioritizing workloads; effective communication; conducting data analysis and fact-finding research; utilizing problem solving techniques; applying applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to real estate management; and timebound project management.
Ability to:
collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to improvement of operational and management practices; organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials; independently conduct fact-finding research; utilize problem solving techniques; plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities; communicate effectively; and demonstrate teamwork.
