Summary:
This position is in the Crime Information Bureau, reporting to the Biometric Services section.
This position is responsible for establishing positive identification of individuals through comparison of fingerprints and processing work through the Biometric Identification Solution (BIS) system as well as physical fingerprint cards received by the section.

Responsibilities:
Specific duties include:
Analyzing results of BIS searches by comparing fingerprint images to determine the possibility of fingerprint identification; Comparing physical fingerprint card impressions against those fingerprint images displayed on a BIS terminal or microfilm reader to determine the possibility of fingerprint identification; and Performing quality control verification on captured fingerprint images via a BIS terminal by analyzing images for correct classification, accuracy, and legibility.

Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.

MINIMUM
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or its equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of fingerprint identification, verification, and classification techniques; Knowledge of the Biometric Identification Solution (BIS) system workflows related to ten print comparisons; Ability to analyze and interpret fingerprint data; Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments; Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
NOTES:
This position is ESSENTIAL; consequently, the member shall report to duty during inclement weather and/or emergency situations declared by the Governor that declare administrative leave for all state employees, state layoffs, etc.
Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
BASE SALARY:
$34,288.
