JOB
Summary:
This is a Tax Law Specialist position in the General Tax Administration Program, Refunds and Distribution Process, Distribution Unit.
The incumbent will work with another Tax Law Specialist to facilitate sales tax distributions including reviewing various return data and other documents to ensure the correct amounts are distributed.
The position also prepares reports, tracks budgets, and participates in and assists with the Planning, Accounting, and Ledger Management (PALM) transition.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND
Experience:

  • Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
  • Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting.
  • Four years of professional accounting experience.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

  • A master s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
