The Work You Will Do:

  • This is a Government Analyst I position in Tallahassee, Fl with the Department of Economic Opportunity working under Contract and Grants within the division of Finance and Administration.
  • This position involves skilled contract and grant management ability, as it relates to Ch. 287, Florida Statutes and requires strong analytical skills, organization skills and professional experience in managing state grant agreements, contracts, and the state procurement process.

Pay:
$36,467.60 - $40,000.00 Annually

Your
Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and perform activities relating to the administration of assigned programs. Activities include:
    managing agreements in an efficient and effective manner consistent with State policies and procedures, and applicable agency guidelines, laws and regulations; developing and processing new grant agreements and/or contracts; preparing cost/price analyses to determine all cost are reasonable and allowable; collecting and reviewing all required reports; conducting desktop monitoring on activities and expenditures of assigned projects to ensure compliance with state guidelines and contract requirements; conducting onsite monitoring as needed of assigned projects to ensure compliance with state guidelines and contract requirements; providing technical assistance to recipients in completing contract tasks; managing agreement budgets and deliverable schedules; processing and tracking payments; drafting and processing any amendments or extension requests needed.
  • Develop and process Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Invitations to negotiate (ITNs), as required.
  • Under managerial supervision review, analyze, and negotiate all terms and conditions of grants and contracts.
  • Maintain good working relationships and keep in close coordination with grant managers from partnering agencies.
  • Prepare reports and analyses as requested by the supervisor for use in decision-making.
  • Routinely review external best practices to insure a high level of program execution.
  • Coordinate reviews and audits with appropriate departments as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in developing, administering and monitoring State grants and contracts;
  • Knowledge of and experience in State purchasing procedures;
  • Skilled in the use of word processing and spreadsheet software;
  • Ability to coordinate and manage activities with other members;
  • Ability to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility and handle multiple tasks;
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment while representing the Departments best interest;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with outstanding customer service skills;
  • Ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy, customer service, or ethics;
  • Ability to conduct research and provide reports and analyses as required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
