Position Summary

This position is responsible for conducting in-depth and comprehensive audits, assessments, inspection and inventories of all operational components of the Florida Highway Patrol to include but not limited to; analyzing data and preparing executive summaries; writing detailed reports of findings and recommendations for improvement; providing research and analysis of policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for performing on-site staff inspections and assist in ensuring the Florida Highway Patrol for accreditation.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants with
Experience:

  • Performing compliance activities that involve policy interpretation
  • Writing technical reports
  • Conducting operational assessments/audits
  • Providing advice, guidance or direction
  • Conducting oral presentations or interviewing individuals to gather information
  • Working or volunteering in a law enforcement environment

Preference will also be given to individuals with a Bachelor s degree or higher.

Position Requirements

This position requires the incumbent to have and maintain a Valid Driver s License in good standing. A driver s license history review will be conducted on all candidates in consideration for the position.

This position will require overnight travel (up to one week).

The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background and CJIS security clearance, to include fingerprinting as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. As an applicant for positions requiring CJIS security clearance, you are required to disclose criminal records that have been sealed or expunged.

General Information

The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.

Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI.

The process for selecting applicant(s) for this position could take up to six months. Following the six-month period, a new application must be submitted to an open advertisement in order to be considered for that vacancy.

HSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
