A bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of administrative experience; or

A master s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for the required experience; or

Administrative or clerical experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Requires possession of a valid class driver license.

NOTES:

The anticipated minimum hiring salary for this position is $25,479.22 annually.

JOB DUTIES:

The incumbent of this position handles confidential matters relating to all employees in the bureau. It is necessary for this employee to possess an extensive working knowledge of the Florida Forest Service (FFS) and its programs. Work is performed independently and with little supervision and employee exercises independent judgement in interpretation of rules, regulations, and policies.

Responsible for assisting with operations of the bureau as it relates to correspondence, records, reports and information required by staff members in carrying out their assigned responsibilities. Has the day-to-day responsibility of coordinating the clerical staff, and the handling of all associated problems that might arise with the exception of certain emergencies or disciplinary action. This includes compiling and analyzing data for administrative decisions, coordinating annual leave, making work assignments, and reviewing the work of other employees. Assists supervisors with administrative details and office management functions. This position assists the Bureau Chief with the research, development and implementation of subject matters relating to collective bargaining issues.

Responsible for all bureau vacancy hiring packages. Employee reviews selection modules, requisitions, and appointment recommendation packages to ensure compliance with federal/state employment laws, personnel rules, and department policies and procedures; resolves any problems; and submits packages within the timeframes set by his/her division. Employee strives to promptly respond to Bureau of Personnel Management questions relating to appointment recommendation packages.

Serves as bureau's training officer. Serves as bureau's workers' compensation liaison, keeping a file with any information pertaining to an injured employee and by providing this information to the FFS claims manager.

Reviews, analyzes, and prepares drafts of memoranda and correspondence for administrative decisions and policies. Reads and distributes all incoming mail, tracks response due dates for assigned correspondence and reports. Composes draft correspondence for items of routine and non-technical matters. Distributes mail to supervisors and other employees together with necessary background material.

Keeps current and knowledgeable on policies and procedures in personnel rules and regulations. Interprets established policy and provides information for the resolution of problems. Maintains Policy and Procedure Manual, and keeps time and attendance records for all Bureau staff. Must be knowledgeable and assist with recommendations on the following:
1) Failure to meet deadlines or anticipated inability to meet a deadline; and 2) Difficulties in obtaining required information from staff or other bureaus.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
