Duties and Responsibilities

This position provides operational and clerical support in the Dealer License Section, Bureau of Dealer Services. This position is responsible for generating and maintaining DMV and CRS payment reports and submitting them to the Revenue Section. This position is responsible for providing dealer licensing information to tag offices, tax collectors offices, insurance agencies and law enforcement agencies. This position is responsible for conducting quality assurance audits on dealer applications received in the regional offices. This position is responsible for providing public record requests from both internal and external customers. This position is responsible for filing and archiving dealer-related documents and renewal applications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Skill in using the Florida Real-Time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS) and SharePoint databases.
  • Skill in operating a personal computer.
  • Skill in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Skill in providing customer service.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
  • Ability to understand, apply and interpret applicable Florida Statutes, rules, regulations and program policies and procedures.
  • Skill in composing, editing and proofreading correspondence.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants with the following:

  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience in providing customer service

Position Requirements

The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background and CJIS security clearance, to include fingerprinting as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. As an applicant for positions requiring CJIS security clearance, you are required to disclose criminal records that have been sealed or expunged.

General Information

The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.

Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI.

The process for selecting applicant(s) for this position could take up to six months. Following the six-month period, a new application must be submitted to an open advertisement in order to be considered for that vacancy.

HSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
